Family seeks assistance finding stolen pet

A little birdie has gone missing and its owners are turning to the public to help find their beloved pet.

According to Laredo Police, Pancha, the 16-year-old Macaw was reported stolen on July 12th.

Police say Pancha was taken from her home on the 1100 block of S. Urbahn Avenue while her owners were at work.

Authorities say the culprits allegedly cut a padlock to the front gate and the gate on the bird’s cage.

The bird is worth $2,000 but the owners are heartbroken over the loss of their family pet.

The family is asking anyone who has any information on the pet’s whereabouts to contact police at 795-2800 or Crime Stoppers at 727-TIPS.
