LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Members of the Laredo Gateway Rotary Club got a lesson on astronomy during Monday’s meeting.
The Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium Director Peter Davis, who also teaches astronomy at TAMIU shared some astronomical facts with Rotarians.
Aside from covering topics regarding the different atmospheres in our neighboring planets, Davis also covered the different spectacles that we will be able to witness in the night sky in the near future.
Davis says during the month of November, there’s a transit in which Mercury will go in front of the sun, so it will look like a little tiny black dot going across the surface of the sun.
The Planetarium director says next month the Planetarium is celebrating its 13th anniversary, so be on the lookout for future events.
