According to reports, three Guatemalan Nationals were detained by Border Patrol immediately following the shooting.
For the past five and a half months, those men were questioned by numerous federal agencies as well as the Guatemalan Consulate about the events that took place that caused the shooting.
The group has not returned back to their home country but the consulate insists that they will still be available for further questioning if need be.
During an interview, the Guatemalan Consulate says, the men are back home trying to restart their lives and are in constant contact with federal agencies and the consulate.
If need be, the witnesses can return to the U.S. to give more testimony in the case.
As of now, no charges have been filed against the Border Patrol agent.
