The showers during Thursday were scattered, briefly heavy in spots, and popped up with the heat of the day. A disturbance in the western gulf will slowly cross south Texas during Friday and Saturday. Widespread heavier rains will move across our area. The rain will not be continuous, but heavy downpours are likely, and 1" to 4" with some higher amounts are likely during this period. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through 7 pm Saturday. These rains will fall on saturated soils from the 9" of rain that fell last week. The disturbance exits to the west Sunday, and sunnier weather with only a few scattered showers will prevail Sunday afternoon through Thursday.
I'm expecting a chance of a scattered shower this evening, humid tonight, low in the mid 70's. A good chance of heavier rain Friday and Saturday. Flash Flood Watch through 7 pm Saturday. 1" to 4" of rain will be common, some higher amounts. High in the 80's. Partly cloudy with some scattered showers still possible Sunday afternoon through Thursday, high in the low 90's.
