U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visits Laredo
Local students over at Texas A&M International University got a special visit from U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Friday morning.
Students with TAMIU’s Student Government Association were invited to attend a lecture from Pelosi organized by the university along with Congressman Henry Cuellar.
Pelosi spoke to hundreds of students about the basics of government and addressed several concerns regarding immigration.
She says that the city’s WBCA festivities are prime examples of our community’s patriotism.
This is just one of the stops on Pelosi’s trip to the Gateway City as she is expected to tour the international bridges and attend the WBCA Abrazo Ceremony.
Nancy Pelosi was the first woman to take the position of Speaker of the House back in 2000 and reclaimed her position back in January.
This was Pelosi’s first visit to Texas A&M International University.
