DALLAS, TX (NBC) - The nation’s first hyperloop train may be coming to the State of Texas in the near future.
The Dallas Fort-Worth Regional Transportation Council announced they are exploring the travel technology.
The council is looking to develop two train projects that will connect Dallas and Fort Worth.
The transportation will zip passengers to their destination at speeds of up to 700 miles per hour, making a ride from Dallas to Fort Worth about six minutes.
The RTC is also looking into a second project, connecting Fort Worth to Laredo, which includes stops in Waco, Austin and San Antonio.
It is not clear how much the project will cost or who will fund it.
The group plans to put in a consultant team later this year.
