LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - The LISD Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to move forward with plans to renovate Veteran’s Field.

On Thursday night, the board approved additional funding to help improve the field.

The board had previously approved 5.9 million dollars to help fix the baseball field, but that has since changed.

LISD is looking at a price of 6.4 million dollars.

If the board approves the costs, construction could start as early as next month.

Executive director for plant facilities, Angel Velazquez says renovations could take as long as 18 months and will work around student’s schedule to make sure they can use the field during the baseball season.
