LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Despite an ongoing lawsuit between LISD and the Laredo Chamber of Commerce, the district has not stopped work on the renovations to the old Civic Center.
District officials showed off the design for the Civic Center Complex.
The plan calls for updating the entrances to the auditorium and conference hall.
It also includes building a new three-story administrative building for district staff.
With the lawsuit between both entities still ongoing over the Chamber’s lease which the LISD inherited with the purchase from the city.
District officials say they worked around the Chamber of Commerce building and focused their efforts to the north side of the property.
