Laredo Police arrest 3 members involved in an alleged auto theft ring

The Laredo Police Department Auto Theft Ring has netted a group of organized car thieves.

A two-month investigation followed the group of thieves, extending beyond the Laredo jurisdiction into parts of Central Texas.

A four-member team would take the cars to Mexico for cartel member to use.

Israel Sanchez, Cesar Bustamante, and Arturo Ayala have all been arrested in connection with the alleged car theft ring.

Police are still on the lookout for Abraham Ahumada Jr. who is at large and wanted on an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

In many of these cases, drivers left their keys inside of their vehicles.

Authorities are advising the public to take the proper precautions, to avoid this happening to you.
