LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Laredo Police have released the identity of the body that was found near the Cheyenne subdivision park over the weekend.
The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Jesus Alberto Trevino.
Police say Trevino’s body was found on Saturday morning near a brushy area of the park by someone walking on the trails.
According to reports, Trevino had a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say they have a 16-year-old boy in custody.
The teen is being charged with murder and was taken to the Webb County Juvenile Detention Center.
Police are still investigating the case.

The Laredo Police Department is investigating a body that was found near the Cheyenne subdivision in south Laredo.
The body was found on Saturday morning when someone who was walking along the park at the time reported it to police.
Police say the body appears to be of a young Hispanic male.
Authorities say they are working closely with the Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine if foul play was involved.
Investigator Joe Baeza says it is being handled as if it were a homicide, and they are still working on trying to determine who the person is.
