LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - The Laredo Center for the Arts wants to pay homage to the late Tejano singer, Selena Quintanilla by hosting an artwork exhibit.
This Saturday is the 23rd anniversary of the death of the singer and several local artists would like to pay tribute to legend.
The Center for the Arts will be hosting an artwork competition where artists from all ages will be able to display the singer in any form of art.
So far the gallery has received different types of entries such as sculptures, digital media and paintings.
Rosy Santos with the Center for the Arts says, “All over the world loves Selena, so I thought she was a Latin American Pop star and she's appealing to mass markets and we just wanted to pay our respect to her.”
The actual remembrance celebrate named “Como La Flor” will take place on April 6th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Laredo Center for the Arts.
Also, if you would like to submit your artwork you can do so at the Center for the Arts located at 500 San Agustin Avenue.
