A man is facing capital murder charges of multiple people after his alleged connection to a quadruple homicide in south Laredo.

Laredo Police arrested 20-year-old Samuel Enrique Lopez in the case.

The incident happened on Thursday night at around 6:30 p.m. when officers were called out to the 4500 block of Vanessita Court.

Officers arrived at the home and noticed signs of a possible crime scene and none of the family members were present.

After investigating the residence, officers found a body and immediately contacted assistance from the Criminal Investigative Division. After thoroughly searching the location, officers found three bodies in a vacant lot near the home.

The body of a fourth member, a two-year-old child was found later at the 4700 block of Arias.

Neighbors of the victims say they are shocked by this tragedy.

"I do feel bad. I knew the baby. Well, I knew all four of them as my neighbors."

"Sad, just sad about what is happening . I don't know why it happened but it is very ugly."

As the investigation developed, sufficient evidence was found to charge Samuel Enrique Lopez with Capital Murder of Multiple Persons and Capital Murder of a Person under the age of ten years of age.

Texas law defines capital murder as a capital felony offense. If convicted of a capital felony, the options for punishment are life in prison or the death penalty. People sentenced to death for a capital felony face lethal injection. Samuel Lopez was transported to Webb County Jail and held with no bond.
