Local Law Enforcement Officer Appointed to ABTPA Board

LAREDO,Texas(KGNS)- A local member of law enforcement is appointed to a state board to help fight auto theft.

Deputy Police Chief, Miguel "Mike" Rodriguez, has been chosen to represent the Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority Board of Texas.

The 7-member group focuses on preventing auto theft and burglary through enforcement, prevention, public information, and education initiatives.

Rodriguez says, with his appointment, the same initiatives and operations that have made Laredo a safer city will be used to improve the state.

Rodriguez was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott and was recommended by Senator Judith Zaffirini.
