LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - The Laredo Public Library will be hosting a book festival which will feature several authors including those from Laredo.
The "Write Now Writing Group" is a local nonprofit that seeks to give local authors a way to establish themselves.
One of the members of the group is local Krystal Linder.
Linder is the author of her new book “A Story for Lilly”.
The story is about a young princess named Lilly who lives in a kingdom with a mean dragon, so Lilly sets off on a journey to vanquish the dragon.
This story is based off a young girl who was facing a similar battle to cancer.
Linder decided she wanted to tell the young girl’s story in the form of a book.
With this book Linder has done a lot for those who have been fighting cancer by donating the proceeds to Gen Cure.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 8th at the Jose A. Guerra Public Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The festival is free and open to the public.
