LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A group of aspiring entrepreneurs are on their way to becoming successful business owners.
A total of 63 students graduated from TAMIU’s Small Business Management Program and out of those graduates, 50 of them were women.
Students received their certificate from the program where they learned everything they need to know on how to operate a small business.
This year 83 percent of the students were woman, a number that keeps increasing every year.
The Small Business Development Center says that over the span of 10 weeks, women have created a wide-variety of businesses in our community that range from the oil and gas industry to beauty salons.
Students who take part in the program say this program has taught them a lot on how to run a successful business.
Recent graduate Santina Piccirllo says, “I'm going to be able to implement absolutely everything that I learned, which is the business plan, the cash flow, and the marketing. The marketing is amazing, everything that they showed us. They prepared us for a whole bunch of stuff with bankers and attorneys. It's an amazing program.”
If you would like to take part in the Small Business Development Program, the next course starts in October.
