TxDOT opens Loop 20 and Clark overpass

After months of construction, traffic delays and detours, the overpass at Loop 20 and Clark is now open for traffic.

The opening of the overpass is good news for commuters who drive through the area on a daily basis.

The project, which was part of the upgrade to the loop extended 2.2 miles in length between Saunders and Highway 359.

Overall, the construction included the building of an overpass at Clark, north and south highway lanes with frontage roads the reconstruction of the Clark intersection.

Officials say now that the project is complete, traffic in the area will flow much faster.

Construction is not entirely complete, crews are still working on the northbound lane as well as the loop overpass at the KCS Rail Bridge.
