Man arrested for allegedly injuring someone with his vehicle

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - A man is arrested for allegedly striking another man with his vehicle.

Laredo Police arrested 24-year-old Jose Sandoval in the case.

According to police, the incident happened on February 10th at around 2 a.m. near the 700 block of Amber.

Authorities say Sandoval was the driver of a Chrysler that was involved in a minor accident between a couple driving a Ford Explorer.

When the accident occurred the couple said they were going to report the accident to the police but they say Sandoval was very adamant about not calling authorities.

Sandoval then allegedly fled the scene and drove off.

The couple caught up to Sandoval, which is when the driver allegedly t-boned the Ford Explorer and crushed the man's leg in the process.

Sandoval then allegedly fled the scene again.

Authorities were able to track Sandoval with his license plate.

When authorities found Sandoval he reportedly admitted to striking the vehicle and injuring the man.

Sandoval was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim in this case is recovering in the hospital with injuries to his leg.
