Man arrested for continuous sexual abuse of a child

A Laredo man is arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a minor under the age of 15.

According to Laredo Police they received a call from the victim’s mother on December 2nd. 2016.

The mother of the girl told police that a man known to her had committed a sexual act on the child.

The Laredo Police Special Investigations unit and CPS launched an investigation and interviewed the child.

Investigators say the girl had been sexually assaulted throughout several years since she was a young child.

Police were able to have enough evidence to arrest 42-year-old Carlos Romo.

Romo was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.
