NEW YORK, NY (CBS NEWS) - A woman who was running the New York City Marathon got a big surprise when her longtime boyfriend popped the question over the weekend.
Kaitlyn Curran, a nurse was about to hit the 16th mile of her first ever marathon when her boyfriend Dennis Galvin hopped over the barricade, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
Completely in shock, Curran said yes without a minute to spare, hugged her fiance and continued the marathon.
Many runners and spectators nearby took pictures of the romantic gesture.
By the end of the marathon, Curran finished with a gold medal and a diamond ring and the two hit the city to celebrate their engagement.
