Mexican authorities patrol Guatemala border

Tapachula, Mexico (CNN) - Mexican authorities are patrolling the country's southern border with Guatemala in a bid to cut off the flow of Central American migrants.

This comes after President Trump said tariffs on Mexican goods were "Indefinitely suspended" after negotiators from the U.S. and Mexico were able to reach a deal on immigration enforcement.

The number of migrants on their journey to the United States has led to the steep spike in border crossings in recent months.
