Mapastepec, MX (NBC) - The caravan of migrants from Central America is continuing its trek through Mexico.
The migrants clustered for the night in the southern town of Mapastepec after advancing on their journey toward the U.S., despite Mexico’s vow to stop their progress under pressure from the Trump administration.
The city is the third stop for many of the migrants after traveling about 100 miles from the Guatemalan border.
Volunteers, authorities and church groups have provided food, water and medical attention to those in need.
Children have been spotted traveling with many families in the migrant caravan and parents have been worried about the effect of recent high temperatures.
