LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - In the race for Laredo Municipal Court Judge, Jesus Chuy Dominguez is in the lead with 45 percent of the votes.
Meanwhile, Rodolfo Rudy Morales III has 29 percent and Nathan Chu has 26 percent.
We caught up with Jesus Dominguez to hear what he said about the results.
Dominguez says, “It was a competition. I ended up with 45 percent, they ended up with 55 percent combined. So what we're hoping for is to pull that off in the run off, if we do end up in a runoff. The results show we did a lot of work and it was hard work and thanks to all the people here, it's the reason we came out on top."
Meanwhile, Rudy Morales says, "What we've seen today is that over 54 percent of the people don't want the incumbent associate judge. That speaks volumes and I think we're going to come out ahead and victorious in the runoff election."
The final voting results should come in later on Tuesday or early Wednesday.
