Juan David Ortiz murder case heads to grand jury

LAREDO,Texas(KGNS)- The District Attorney's Office is preparing to present their case against Juan David Ortiz before a grand jury.

On Wednesday, the DA is set to request formal charges for Ortiz. The Border Patrol agent accused of fatally shooting four people and kidnapping another.

It's possible that the DA could decide to pursue capital murder, but that will all be announced Wednesday.

Back in September, Ortiz confessed to murdering four people and assaulting a fifth woman who managed to escape.

Ortiz recently requested a judge to reduce his 2.5 million dollar bond, but that was denied.

The DA's office will not be commenting on the case until after Wednesday's hearing.
