One dead and Three injured in Texas plane crash

A small plane crash near Fort Worth claims the life of one person and injures three others.

The Cessna 172 aircraft crashed on Thursday evening while taking off from a rural airfield in Wise County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the aircraft was taking off at around 7:30 p.m. from Rhome Meadows which is about 30 miles north of Fort Worth.

Authorities say the pilot was killed instantly while an adult passenger and two children were airlifted to the hospital with severe injuries.

The identities and their conditions are unknown at this time.

The cause of the accident is unclear at the moment and the investigation is ongoing.
