LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A local non-profit organization is getting ready to help the youth in our community.
The Women’s City Club will be launching its Pennies for Tennies campaign to raise money for underprivileged students.
The club will have jars distributed throughout the city where people can donate any amount of money.
Organizers are hoping to raise enough money to help 100 local kids in need.
A small donation can go a long way.
Melinda Dalton says, “It's one of those things that it really makes me feel good about helping people in the community and it's also getting the kids involved in helping other kids.”
Last year, the organization raised $24,000 worth of donations. This year they are hoping to beat that amount.
The campaign will last through the month of October.
