(NBC) - As Hurricane Michael pounded Florida and Georgia Wednesday night, President Donald Trump was in Pennsylvania for a private campaign fundraiser and rally.
Mr. Trump told reporters he didn't want to disappoint his supporters by canceling the event, and said he's heading to Florida soon to survey hurricane damage.
At the rally, the president took aim at Democrats over their treatment of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and lodged his most direct allegation yet against Hillary Clinton.
"There was collusion between Hillary, the Democrats and Russia, there was collusion, there's no question," said Mr. Trump.
The president offered no proof to back up those claims.
Two people were killed as Tropical Storm Michael moved across Florida and Georgia early Thursday. The storm weakened Thursday morning as it made its way across the Carolinas.
