Rain Friday, Then, Dry

By  |

Humid Gulf of Mexico air will begin to move into our area overnight. Temperatures and humidity will rise Thursday, patches of drizzle will be possible. Lifting motion from two sources for tall rain clouds/thunderstorms will come into play Friday/Friday night. A wave in the upper level wind flow will be approaching from the west, and a cold front will be approaching from the north, acting as a surface over which to lift the gulf moisture. Some of the thunderstorms could become strong. Drier air from the Great Plains will follow beginning Saturday.

I'm expecting cloudy tonight, low in the high 50's. Mainly cloudy Thursday, some drizzle is possible, highs around or a bit above 70. Mostly cloudy with showers likely Friday, heavier showers or thunderstorms may move through Friday evening or night. Highs in the low to mid 70's. Clearing and cooler with low humidity Saturday through Tuesday, highs in the 60's, lows in the 40's. Upper 30's are possible at dawn Monday. Partly cloudy Wednesday, high in the 70's.
