LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A city-wide initiative that aims to get kids involved in reading is launching this month’s theme of eating healthy.
The Laredo Independent School District’s Read for Life group is launching its September theme of “The Garden of Life”.
During the month of September, LISD will be promoting books on how to live a healthy lifestyle with books such as “Are you what you eat?”, “Dieting and Nutrition” and many more.
Not only does this campaign help students get involved in the various reading topics but it also teaches the students on how to learn from these books and apply it to their everyday lives; thus reiterating the importance of reading.
Next month, the program will discuss the importance of good dental hygiene.
For more information on the different health-related books, you can visit your child’s school library.
