Council members discuss changing a polling site, as concerns over an unfair advantage come into question.
Webb County Elections Office Administrator, Jose Salvador Tellez, says the City of Laredo came forward asking to move the Santo Nino Elementary School polling site.
He explains some of the issues raised by the City Secretary, which include reports of one candidate coming frequently within 100 feet of the location.
That candidate being Jose R. Perez III, the principal at Santo Nino Elementary.
Tellez tells us, candidates or campaigning isn't allowed within 100 feet of the polling site.
The incumbent for City Council District 2, Vidal Rodriguez, believes this is an unfair advantage for his opponent.
Laredo ISD has also requested for the school not be used as a polling site, citing a disruption to students.
The City Secretary added that he previously requested the Elections Office be moved to the Saint Vincent De Paul Church.
The church has agreed to be the polling site for Election Day.
