San Antonio man arrested for allegedly stealing city vehicle

SAN ANTONIO, TX (KSAT) - A man in San Antonio is arrested for allegedly stealing a fire commander’s pick-up truck and leading officers on a high speed vehicle pursuit.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the incident happened at around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday near St. Mary’s and Houston Street.

Authorities say fire personnel were getting a drink inside a Starbucks when a man stole the vehicle while it was running outside.

The suspect allegedly stole the car and drove the city vehicle around town for nearly an hour damaging multiple vehicles and property.

The chase came to an end near I-35 and Loop 20.

Police have not released the identity of the man arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
