BEAUMONT, TX (CNN) - An elementary school principal in Beaumont, Texas is taking a creative approach to try to get more students involved in reading.
Once a week, Belinda George puts on some cute PJ's and reads bedtime stories over a social media livestream.
She calls it "Tucked-in Tuesdays" and students get reading points for tuning in.
The principal started the bedtime readings back in December in an effort to raise the school's low reading scores.
Less than half of the school's third grade and 60-percent of the fourth graders passed the state-mandated reading test last year.
It's Ms. George's first school year as principal and she hopes to turn those numbers around when students take the tests again in April and May.
