(CNN) - On Tuesday night, all eyes were on the race United States Senator between Ted Cruz and Beto O’Rourke.
Election officials say it was one of the closest U.S. Senate races the State of Texas has seen in years; however, Texas will remain red as Republican Ted Cruz beat O’Rourke by a margin of 51 to 49 percent.
The two candidates gave their acceptance and concession speech on Tuesday night, drawing the eight months of campaigning to a close.
Cruz says it was an election about hope and about the future and the people of Texas rendered a verdict that we want a future with more jobs and more security and more freedom."
Meanwhile, O’Rourke remained grateful to every single one of his supporters.
