According to Feeding America, one in seven people is struggling with hunger in Texas.

Friday morning the South Texas Food Bank received a donation for $7,500 dollars to combat those statistics.

Molina Healthcare of Texas made the donation, which will go towards feeding multiple families for a year.

In addition, the funding will help purchase new pots and pans for the food bank's new kitchen.

The group also adopted four families for an entire year and will provide 30 to 40 pounds of food a month per family.
