Late night thunderstorm causes damage throughout Laredo

Several parts of Laredo are still recovering after a massive hail storm hit the Gateway City Tuesday night.

Hail completely filled the parking lot of both Big Lots and H-E-B on Saunders.

The majority of ice has melted with the exception of a few piles.

Around town, many people were seen cleaning up debris of leaves and even fallen trees.

The Laredo Police Department reported several incidents of downed power lines and trees falling on top of vehicles and some houses.

Police say during the time of the storm, there were a total of 63 calls.

Officers reportedly assisted five stranded motorists and there were only three car accidents reported, but luckily none were major.

With rain expected in our forecast, authorities are reminding drivers that if they see a large amount of flooded water to turn around.
