LAREDO,Texas(KGNS)- Employees of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission will spend the first two weeks of January assisting travelers during the busy paisano travel season.
During the holiday season paisanos headed to Mexico to visit family and are now returning and bringing back bottles of alcohol.
The TBAC is providing for them a one-stop shop for travelers to pay a small tax and administrative fee on any spirits, wine, or beer brought into Texas.
Employees assess and collect the tax while keeping an eye out for any potentially illegal or dangerous beverages.
Staff will also investigate any underage travelers who attempt to bring alcohol into Texas.
