LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Local students got a chance to see what it would be like to be the delegate of a country during a special event over the weekend.
Texas A&M International University held its Model United Nations event on Saturday morning.
Over 50 students from TAMIU and Nuevo Laredo both took part in this grand opportunity.
Although the students aren’t officially representing countries, they are getting a feel of what it would be like to become world leaders.
Students had two weeks to prepare and represent the country bestowed upon them in a simulation.
Students with TAMIU and the El Instituto de Technologico competed together to form the Laredo Model United Nations.
Finalist were chosen to represent at the Harvard World Model United Nations.
Through this event, students learn the art of decision making and compromise.
