City works to reduce congestion in school zones

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Any driver can tell you getting around town in traffic is pretty frustrating, but driving through a school zone in the morning and afternoon is even more so.

To help make traffic flow better city and school district officials met to talk about how to improve congestion around certain high congestion school zones.

City officials say that while they work with the school district to plan for ways to deal with traffic, many times the school will make changes that can affect the traffic pattern, which can add to the problem.

They add that both the city and district meet frequently to look at ways to make improvements to traffic flow.

In the end, they say the best advice is to stay patient and give yourself plenty of extra time to get to where you’re going.
