Last week the district announced Alexander High School head football coach, Joel Lopez would be reassigned to an undetermined position.
The decision came just days after Lopez’s home was one of the locations raided in connection to a recent eight-liner investigation.
The district maintains that this is not the reason for the reassignment.
David Garcia with UISD’s HR department says Lopez was moved to the facilities department.
Starting on Monday, Lopez is the administrator of the Facilities Department.
Lopez spent 13 years as the athletic coordinator at Alexander.

Effective Monday he will no longer be the Head Coach or Athletic Coordinator at Alexander.

They add that Lopez' reassignment will be effective on Monday, January 15th. They say they plan on posting the position on Monday as well.
