U.S. Customs and Border Protection seizes $2 million dollars worth of narcotics

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Over two million dollars worth of illegal narcotics are off the streets thanks to the work of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The most recent seizure happened on Tuesday, February 5th at the Gateway to the America’s Bridge when a CBP officer referred a 2012 Dodge Ram to secondary inspection.

Officers say the car was driven by a 50-year-old man from North Carolina.

When agents searched the car, they found 24 packages containing 100 pounds of alleged meth within the vehicle.

The narcotics had an estimated street value of $2,002,658.

CBP seized the narcotics along with the vehicle and the case was turned over to Homeland Security.
