LAREDO,Texas(KGNS)- The City of Laredo held a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the new WIC mobile clinic.
The Women, Infants, and Children supplemental nutrition program provides educational information, as well as food and health care referrals to low-income recipients.
Two commercial vans were equipped with all the supplies needed to provide health services to low-income women and children.
Health officials will now be able to use these mobile units to venture out to underserved communities and enroll qualifying recipients.
This service will go a long way as there are many in and around the area. The City of Laredo Health Department serves about 22 thousand women and children enrolled in the WIC program.
