LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A road project that has been in the works for years is finally seeing some traction.
During Monday’s Commissioners Court meeting, officials spoke about the environmental clearance for the Hachar Reuthinger Project.
The purpose of the project is to connect Mines Road and I-35 which is something the county says is sorely needed when it comes to traffic build up.
Marah Mendez says that location sees a lot of heavy traffic, so this road would help alleviate some of that traffic.
Some of the delays over the years have come from the issues with TxDOT as well as the FBI investigation into the firm working on the project.
It is still unclear when the development will begin or be complete.
