LOS ANGELES, CA (CNN) - A woman in Los Angeles is arrested for allegedly being involved in the attack that left a 92-year-old man in critical condition.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrested 30-year-old Laquisha Jones.
The attack happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July in Los Angeles, California.
Jones is accused of throwing a concrete block at 92-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is a Mexican National who was in town visiting his family for the Fourth of July holiday.
Witnesses say the man was in the park at the time of the incident when a woman came up behind him, tossed him to the floor and started beating him.
Rodriguez suffered a broken jaw, two broken ribs, and broken cheek-bones.
Jones was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
The weapon in the case has not been located and a motive for the assault has not been determined at this time.
Rodriguez was released from the hospital and is recovering at home with his family.
Investigators are still searching for more possible suspects.
