LAREDO,Texas(KGNS)- A woman accused of tampering with evidence in the case involving the murder of her three-year-old daughter pleads guilty.
Janette Pantoja made her plea before the 406th District Court.
The state recommended a punishment of six months to serve as a condition of an 8-year probation term.
Since Pantoja had previously served 8 months, Judge O.J. Hale credited that time.
In 2014, Pantoja confessed that her boyfriend Cristian Yepez killed her daughter, Jasleen Valdez.
She provided specific details on the incident saying Yepez killed her daughter by beating her at the Monterrey Inn, back in August of 2014.
She also led police to her daughter's body which they both buried at a construction site on Springfield.
Yepez was previously found guilty and is serving a 30-year sentence.
