"One cannot have too large a party", as the Texas A&M International University pays tribute to Jane Austen.
The College of Arts and Science's Department of Humanities honored the English novelist on Wednesday.
2017 marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of two of Austen's novels - "Persuasion" and "Northanger Abbey".
Students were treated to afternoon tea at the university, and the celebration continues on Wednesday night with a free screening of "Pride and Prejudice" at the Alamo Drafthouse. The movie starts at 7:00 pm. Entry is free, and is first-come, first-serve.
