LISD Preparing for Graduation Ceremonies

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - As the school year comes to an end, hundreds of LISD high school seniors are preparing for graduation.

In less than 24 hours, close to 1,400 students from Cigarroa, Martin and Nixon will be walking up the stairs to receive their diploma.

The district has been busy setting out chairs, decorating the stage and making last minute touches.

On Friday, the Early College High School will have its graduation. The district says they have plenty of seats available for all parties who will be attending the ceremony, but they do need a ticket for a seat.

The venue does have regulations that parents should keep in mind. Balloons, signs or banners are not allowed, as well as confetti and noisemakers.

For all those friends and family members who cannot make it out to the graduation, the district says they are live streaming the event on Youtube and their web page.

On Thursday the district will be holding its end of the year car raffle, where one student will go home with a brand new car.
