LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Laredo continues to grow, and all types of companies come to see what kinds of incentives the city offers.
For this reason, the City of Laredo announced it will suspend property taxes within a five-year period in order for U.S. Cold Storage - a refrigerated services warehouse company - to expand its facilities in our area.
The company plans to invest $34.5 million for its expansion under this new tax abatement plan.
"They're willing to employ over 30 employees, and possibly more as time permits, and as the business expands within our city," says Laredo Mayor Pete Saenz. "This is crucial. These are good-paying jobs where families can provide an equality living for themselves and their children."
This third plant will be located between the Colombia Bridge and the World Trade Bridge.
