Morning Brew #2 | Life skills every college-bound teen should know—like how to boil an egg!

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - In this episode of Morning Brew, I come clean on being a ‘helicopter Mom’—but there’s a reason behind why I’ve hovered over my ‘soon-to-be’ graduating son—he started his high school year during the peak of Covid in 2020, and as his Mom, I did everything I could to keep him physically and mentally safe. Four years later, I realize I may have gone a bit too far. So, I’ve reached out to Melissa Ramirez, Director of Counseling and Guidance at United ISD, one of the largest school districts in Texas, for some tips on how to get kids ready to hit the road—or the friendly skies—to make it on their own. With any luck, maybe they’ll even learn how to boil an egg before the end of summer! Enjoy the Brew!
