‘Days of Our Lives’ star Wayne Northrop dies at 77
(Gray News) - Wayne Northrop, known for his roles on “Days of Our Lives” and “Dynasty,” has died.
Northrop died on Nov. 29 at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home in Los Angeles, according to a statement acquired by People. He was 77.
Northrop was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s six years ago, according to People.
His wife, Lynn Herring Northrop, said in the statement that he died in the “arms of his family.”
Northrop is best known for his role as detective Roman Brady on “Days of Our Lives” from 1981 to 1984 and again from 1991 to 1994. According to People, he appeared in more than 1,000 episodes of the show.
Northrop also appeared as Michael Culhane on “Dynasty” and Rex Stanton on “Port Charles.”
Along with acting, Northrop and his wife ran a working cattle ranch in Raymond, California, for the past 35 years.
“Wayne touched so many people with his sense of humor and wit,” Lynn Herring Northrop said in the statement. “A husband for 43 years, the best dad ever to his two boys, Hank and Grady, and a rancher who loved his cows and was a friend to many.”
Northrop is survived by his wife and his two sons.
