Undefeated Heat Set for Division Showdown
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo Heat(7-0-0) continue to be red hot this summer as they roll into their next match up against Lonestar SC (4-2-1) looking to remain perfect on the season and increase their lead in the Lone Star Division.
The Gateway City side holds an eight point lead on the closest team to them and their plus 15 goal differential is eight better than the next club.
That’s just how much the Heat have been methodical in crushing their opposition so far this season
One of the key pieces to the Heat’s success has been forward Gael Gallegos.
“We faced them already in the beginning of the season but we’re not confident with that,” said Gallegos on not getting ahead of themselves just yet with the success they have found. “That was a very difficult game over there and we know it’s going to be the same here.”
First-Year Heat Coach Juan De Dios Ibarra has not skipped a beat after last seasons initial success under former Head Coach John Powell.
“We have Austin Lonestar and they are coming behind us in 2nd place and it’s going to be a great game and hopefully the people can come and support us,” said Ibarra on needing the fan support for the match. “We need you guys, hopefully the people from Laredo and Nuevo Laredo can come and support your Laredo Heat.“
The Heat and Lonestar square off at 7:45pm from P-E-G Energy Stadium
