Man accused of living in ‘elaborate’ crawl space of condo without owner’s knowledge, deputies say
CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) - A man in Oregon was arrested after deputies say he was allegedly found living in the crawl space of a condo.
Benjamin Bucur, 40, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and unlawful possession of meth.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a condominium complex on SE Old Town Court near Happy Valley at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
A witness reportedly told deputies they saw Bucur, who they believed did not live at the complex, park his car and walk to the back of the building.
The witness also says they noticed the door to the crawl space was open and light was coming from the inside before it was later closed.
Deputies say they noticed the door had been damaged and was locked, and an extension cord running through a vent.
The owner told deputies that no one was supposed to be down there and there shouldn’t be any lights on inside.
Clackamas County deputies broke down the door to the crawl space since the keys provided by the owner did not work. That’s where they found Bucur who was allegedly inside.

A bed, lights, chargers, TVs, and other electronics plugged into the power of the house were also found in the crawl space as well as a pipe with residue that tested positive for meth.
